James M. Halverson, D.O., FAAFP
Dr. James M. Halverson graduated with honors from the prestigious Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1992, the first osteopathic medical school in the United States. He completed his residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center, where he gained extensive experience in both general medicine and emergency care.
Before embarking on his medical career, Dr. Halverson spent four years as a high school chemistry and physics teacher and basketball coach. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Virginia.
Dr. Halverson is passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and disease prevention. He emphasizes patient education, believing that empowering individuals to understand and manage their health conditions is crucial to effective care. He is a diplomat of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
